Since 1998, Cody has had the privilege of spending time fishing the Green River with friends he has met while guiding for Flaming Gorge Resort. Growing up fishing the waters of Utah led to a love of fly fishing, especially on the Green River. Cody loves to tie bugs that will fool the keen Green River trout and especially loves to get them to rise for big hackle ants. Although he loves to fish dry flies he also will do what it takes to get fish to the boat. He loves the challenge and intrigue that everyday fishing the Green brings to anglers.
Cody teaches Biology at Mountain High School during the off-season. When he’s not teaching or guiding on the river, Cody spends his time fishing, hunting, and playing all across northern Utah.
Cody welcomes anyone to his boat who wants to have a good time and loves to show his clients the intricate behaviors of the river's trout and the varieties of invertebrates found there. Whether you are a beginning angler looking to learn the basics or a seasoned angler who just needs someone to row your drifts, Cody will help to make your trip to the Green River an unforgettable experience!
Captain Craig Bullara grew up fishing in North Tampa Bay, Florida. He began fishing for Largemouth Bass on Sluggo's in residential ponds and lakes around age 3.
He began fishing on the Green in 2013. He now spends his summer and fall seasons here fishing the world-class Green River, and winters in his home state of Florida where he enjoys chasing Tarpon.
Craig says that the best part of guiding on the Green is "Becoming part of the team with the most elite guides in the West." He also says that his specialty is "Extraordinary fishing experiences with the occasional bad joke."
His easy-going, friendly nature will help you have the most fun, productive, and memorable trip possible!
Travis is from nearby Vernal, Utah, and has been fishing the Green River for 30 years!
He started fishing on the lakes in Minnesota as soon as he was old enough to hold a fishing rod.
He says that the best part of being a fishing guide on the Green River is “meeting new people and being in some of the prettiest country on earth.”
His fun, cheerful personality makes him a great fit for any angler. He loves to take people out to give them an experience of a lifetime. If you were to ask him what his “specialty” is, he would tell you it is catching fish!
Bennie is a seasoned angler with many years of fishing experience under his belt.
He began fishing when he was a small child in Pinedale, Wyoming, and fell in love! He caught his first big brown when he was 5 and made the front page of the Pinedale Roundup. He has many stories of fishing as a kid that he loves to share.
Bennie enjoys meeting and teaching new people and getting people hooked on fishing!
He especially loves throwing streamers down in the lower "C" section where all the big boys like to hide out. He enjoys tying flies and figuring out what he can get the big ones to bite on.
While he enjoys streamer fishing, he is happy to fish some dries or nymphs, too! Whatever he can do to ensure you have an amazing day on the river!
He says that his specialty is "Chasing difficult-to-catch hogs on fly rods, teaching, telling stories, and keeping the day entertaining."
"Ain’t no fun if you can’t have fun!"
I am a 9-year veteran guide in the great north of Alaska until one day my favorite guest invited me to fish the mighty Green River of Utah below Flaming Gorge Reservoir!
As we made our way to put in below the Dam, I knew this trip would change my life! The sound of the current lapping at the boat, the smell of ponderosa and cedar filled the spring air and the towering walls of the canyon were all overwhelming!!!!!
Coming from Colorado, fishing and hunting was in my blood but making my way to Alaska was the catalyst for my passion for guiding fisherman. Early in my life, I thought my passion was photography but little did I know it was just a tool to be used in my true love!!
My last season in Alaska was split with guiding on the Green River in the spring and fall which went well but there are always new things to learn from the river coming out of the Gorge and the river of knowledge coming from my fellow guides that took me in and showed me the ropes!!
I have decided I would guide full-time on the Green River and now consider it home!!
I love catching fish using any method but I prefer the fly like the majority of our guests! That being said I like to have fun whether the catching is hot or not (I’m kind of a goofball) because for me catching a new friend and experiencing a place like the Green need to be enjoyed at every level!!
His friendly demeanor and desire to provide the best experience for each client will help make your next fishing trip one you won't soon forget!
I grew up in the Midwest fishing the Great Lakes with Grandpa, fishing runs in my blood. My fly fishing journey started on the Green River and has brought me back full circle and now I'm honored to work with some world-class guides on one of the most beautiful stretches of water I've ever seen. My favorite thing about fly fishing is how immersed you are in your surroundings and the technical approaches of entomology and tying flies to match bugs that may be unique to the area. I spent 3 years traveling the lower 48 and some time on salt, rounding my game with a fly rod, and knew that guiding was for me. The best part of guiding is seeing it "click" with clients and they shed the frustrations that come with the intricacies of learning to fly fish and can enjoy a day of fishing and come out a better angler. I enjoy throwing dry flies, streamers, and mousing most but nymphing should be in every fly fisherman's arsenal. I think a good day on the water is one that's memorable and fun, after all, it's just fishin! If I'm not fishing I like to play music, backpack, rock climb, snowboard, and travel.
Captain Brent Hodges has been guiding fishing trips for over 20 years. His guide experience began in Alaska, salmon fishing at age 19. His passion for fly fishing really came to fruition in his home state of Texas. With so many target species he was able to offer his clients a variety of options such as trout and bass on the TX hill country rivers, polling the saltwater flats for reds, and stalking Tarpon near shore. It was there that he also owned and operated a successful fly shop near the Guadalupe River that gave him the freedom to explore the popular waters of Utah in his off-season.
Currently, Brent guides full-time in Utah where he captains 2 different types of vessels. A custom 15ft Steathcraft drift boat that is set up for fly fishing the scenic Green River for trout and holds 2 anglers. His second office is an Idaho boat cabin cruiser made for fishing Flaming Gorge Reservoir for salmon and lake trout. This 22ft custom aluminum boat has ample room for up to 6 anglers, is equipped with all the latest Raymarine electronics, electric downriggers, fish cleaning station as well as a complete cab enclosure with a heater for protection from elements while aboard.
Brent strives to give his clients a memorable day on the water whether you are a newbie or a seasoned pro. Every day is a great day on the water if you are positive and willing to accept that they're just fish. This is a fun sport... not a competitive one!
