Well, it wasn’t much of a “Snow” rally, more of a dirt rally, but it was epic. We had more participants than we have ever had with 34 participants pre-registered. We had 7 that weren’t able to come, but had 2 more add on the day of for a total of 29 cars Rallying. The weather was a little windy on Saturday, but still sunny. Sunday was absolutely gorgeous.
We had a first, as Robert Steggell was Rallying, he lost a wheel on his boat car. That sure didn’t stop him, he took off running, got another one, put it on, and finished his lap.
Martin Schwab, with his 1930 Model A, won the first-place prize of $1000 in Resort credit, by completing 21 laps throughout the two-day event. Another first we had was we had a 6-way tie for second place, completing 20 laps. All 6 participants had to complete one last lap with the fastest time. Tyler Kirkwood, driving his 1931 Ford Model A Roadster, pulled out the 2nd place win receiving $500 in Resort credit. Trae Elison, driving the Bair family 1927 Ford Roadster, got 3rd receiving $250 in Resort credit.
A big shoutout to Thomas Reynolds. who drives clear from Colorado to be our flagman every year! He starts and flags the finish of each car with such enthusiasm and energy, makes us tired just watching him. We can’t thank him enough for all his time, dedication, and energy he brings to the Rally.
We did tailgating right by the track for the first time this year and was a big success. Actually, it was even more successful than we planned for, so we will make some adjustments for next year and make it even better. We had great support from the participants and spectators and we can’t express our gratitude enough. We look forward to next year on MLK weekend, January 16&17, 2027.
We had several professional photographers that attended and we really appreciate their support as well.
