The Flaming Gorge Resort Snow Rally is an annual winter event typically held in January at Flaming Gorge Resort in Dutch John, Utah. It features pre-1954 vehicles rallying on a snow course. The event is free for spectators and includes food & drinks, fires, a warming tent, and often a bonfire, offering a fun winter experience & atmosphere.

Lake Trout Angler Harvest Program

January 1, 2026 - April 30, 2026

Winter fishing plays an important role in maintaining the health of Flaming Gorge Reservoir. This event encourages anglers to help restore balance to the Flaming Gorge Reservoir fishery by catching and harvesting Lake Trout under 25 inches. 

Additionally, up to $10,000 worth of cash prizes will be given away at this event.

This program makes winter fishing at Flaming Gorge both rewarding and impactful.

Burbot Bash

For one weekend, typically in January, fishermen can come to Flaming Gorge to catch as many Burbot fish as possible. The predatory Burbot fish has been illegally introduced, hurting all sport fishing. This event is part of a coordinated effort to improve the health of the fishery.

Register your team of 2-4 members to compete and be eligible for great prizes in a variety of categories. One angler will also have the chance to win a $30,000 cash prize by catching a tagged burbot and having their name drawn.

Cross Country Ski Trails

One of the best ways to enjoy the winters in Flaming Gorge is Cross-Country skiing on the nearby trails.  Enjoy the peace and serenity that the area has to offer.

Stop by the Store at the resort and rent your cross-country skis. Ski rental includes skis, poles, boots, and gators for only $15.
