One of our owners, Woody Bair, wrote this information as a summary of the flows and what to expect:
As of May 1st, daily flow changes may occur with very little notice.
May 1st flows increase from 2050 daily average to 4600cfs (power plant capacity).
*We don’t anticipate any flow fluctuations throughout the day.
*The walking trail is designed to be usable at this flow.
*It is not advisable to try to go under Taylor Flat Bridge at this flow
May 4th flows increase from 4600 daily average to 8600 daily average (often referred to as bypass). This is the flow that utilizes the hollow jet tubes. Very cool to see in person.
*Fishing should be a bit hard the first day or two as flows kick up moss, sand, sticks, needles and logs. After which, look for great days Nymphing!! Water is swift and cold and parts of the trail are underwater at this flow.
*This flow will last for 7 days, then there will be a 2000cfs draw down per day down to 1000 daily average.
*It is NOT POSSIBLE to float under Taylor Flat Bridge at this flow
Mid-May 1000 CFS daily average
*This flow will remain at this average until the Small Mouth Bass spike flow planned for June. (timing unknown)
*Flows during this day will likely be fluctuating to mirror power demand.
June Small Mouth Bass spike flow
*Flows up to 4600 CFS with No fluctuations for 72 hours.
*Water temperature will be intentionally dropped during this period.
Summer Base flows after the Small Mouth Bass spike
*As soon as the SMB spike flow ends flows will be 2050 CFS.
*Look for flows to be fluctuating to mirror power demand.
*This flow should continue until late September or October 1st.
